The Cardiovascular Care Group has long appreciated the importance of nutrition in the overall care of patients with vascular disease. Simply repairing blocked arteries without understanding the importance of diet and lifestyle to the overall well-being of the patient is not an acceptable practice. Frequently, our recommended therapy for patients is ONLY that of lifestyle modification, which most often leads to a resolution of symptoms!
Our skilled staff includes two full-time nutritionists with expertise in the management of diabetes mellitus, kidney disease and lipid (cholesterol) problems. They are well educated with Dr. Patricia Davidson holding a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition in addition to her Registered Dietician, Master of Sciences and Certified Diabetes Educator accomplishments. Linda Sharenow has over 20 years of experience in the field and has earned her Masters degree in Clinical Nutrition and a Bachelors Degree in Dietetics, along with additional training at the Joslin Diabetes Center.
